Come and get acquainted with local authors. Hear author readings, get writing and publishing tips, and have a chance to get autographed copies of their books. Several authors will be present.

Are you interested in joining the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and don’t know where to start? Polly Merchant of the Jane Dean Coffey Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Coffeyville, KS and someone from the Esther Lowery Chapter of the DAR in Independence, KS will be here to talk about DAR. Polly is a long-time volunteer at the Independence Public Library and has helped many people in their research.

We’ll also hear about two local organizations: Friends of the Independence Public Library, who volunteer and raise funds for the Library and the Imagination Library, which provides free books to kids in USD446 school district for kids under age 5.
