Kara Lee Corthron

Kara Lee Corthron lives and writes in New York City. She’s written many plays that have been performed around the U.S. including ALICEGRACEANON, WELCOME TO FEAR CITY, LISTEN FOR THE LIGHT, and HOLLY DOWN IN HEAVEN, which won her the Princess Grace Award (and a dance with Prince Albert II, of Monaco). THE TRUTH OF RIGHT NOW is her first novel.

In her debut novel, playwright Corthron crafts a haunting and disturbingly realistic tale of two teenagers from different worlds trying desperately to hold onto their artistic dreams while enduring the vapid wasteland that is their upscale New York City prep school. . . . A powerhouse of storytelling that feels timely and timeless. (Kirkus, STARRED REVIEW)
