Celebrating the library and our commitment to serving Independence. Throughout the event, the community is invited to engage with the library through social media and in-person events. Independence Public Library at a Glance

In 2023, 34,002 people visited the Independence Public Library. That is12,900 more people who visited the library than in 2022.
In 2022 the Independence Public Library checked out 4,000 more items to the public than in 2021.
453 New patrons signed-up for library cards in 2022.
Computer usage more than doubled in 2022. Our computers were logged into 6,407 times by patrons.
The amount of classes and event’s the library hosted in 2022, more than tripped.
The library hosted 176 family events in 2022.
