Community and Senior Center

Located on the 2nd Floor of the Independence Public Library (220 E. Maple)

Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

The Community and Senior Center was started in January of 2023. It was started to help serve the needs of our seniors in the community. There is a wealth of programs including movies, exercise programs and more. Information about programs can be found by clicking on Classes & Events. The Community and Senior Center has an advisory board appointed by the library board to help us better serve the needs of seniors. The current CSC board members are Nancy Orr, Teya Hooper, Paul Gardner, Theresa Mitchell, Cindy Hutchinson Carolyn Torrance and Roxie Coble-Smith.

Teya Hooper acts as our Staff Liaison and can be reached by calling the library 620-331-3030 we are always interested in exciting new classes and activities for seniors!
