Join the fun! The library needs its FRIENDS. The Friends of IPL is a lively group that helps the library through volunteering at events and fundraising. It is also a social organization that has its own fun activities like Pot Luck in the Park, Friends Appreciation Night, finger-food socials, guest speakers and other engaging events. Everyone is always welcome!
In a world of tightening budgets and growing need, the Independence Public Library is increasingly important to our community. Traditional library funding is not sufficient to meet our mission. The Independence Public Library has made it easier than ever to donate to the library. You can now make reoccurring donations, one-time donations, estate planning, as well as a variety of other methods. We accept donations of supplies for classes and evens, and used books to be sold in our bookstore.
The Independence Public Library recognizes that today everyone has numerous commitments to fulfill. That is why we have easy ways to volunteer. Just join our volunteer list and we will send an email or text blast asking for people to help with our events, share their expertise, or provide supplies and refreshments. If you would like to become a regular volunteer working in the bookstore or doing genealogy research, we would love that too! Just click on the VOLUNTEER NOW button to be added to our volunteer database.
